DETAILS:
I was born in 1970 in Kutaisi, Georgia. In 1987 I finished physical and mathematical school, after that I was enrolled in Tbilisi State University at the faculty of mechanics and mathematics. In 1992 I graduated University and began to work in Kutaisi Technical University as a teacher of mechanics. But I was interested in embroidery and I began to study in Kutaisi Theological college in 1995. There is a workshop of painting and embroidering of icons. I learnt embroidering of icons. Besides, I connected with the teacher of embroidering in Tbilisi Theological Academy. the teacher works at the restoring of old Georgian embroidering technique. She taught me old patterns and now, I embroider with a help of this technique.
COMMENTS:
Georgian embroidery was highly appreciated in earliest centuries outside of my country. I hope many people will be interested nowadays in Georgian embroidering technique.
