In 1994, Janel founded her own digitizing company to complement her family's existing embroidery business and fill their digitizing needs. Her business, known as Dimensional Designs, now has Janel digitizing full time for other embroiderers. Her husband, Dan, is also involved in her business. Together, in addition to the Dimensional Designs, they own Thistle - n - Thread. It is a mobile embroidery operation selling apparel at Scottish Highland Games.
