Course Level Criteria
Level One
 1T   Time Requirements
  • Session must run from a minimum of 45 minutes to 2 hours
 1P   Presentation Requirements
None required. However, may use some of the following Options
  1. A prerequisite such as time in business or a reading
  2. Interactive format beyond class discussion
Level Two
 2T   Time Requirements
  • Classes / Workshop runs from 1 to 3 hours
 2P   Presentation Requirements
Must contain at least one of the following Options
  1. A prerequisite such as time in business or a reading
  2. Interactive format beyond class discussion
Level Three
 3T   Time Requirements
  • Classes / Workshop runs from 2 to 4 hours
 3P   Presentation Requirements
Must contain at least two of the following Options
  1. A prerequisite such as time in business or a reading
  2. Interactive format beyond class discussion
  3. Class project
  4. Individual project
  5. Homework that is critiqued by the presenter
Level Four
 4T   Time Requirements
  • Classes / Workshop runs a minimum of four hours
  • No limitation to length of time, however maximum of 12 hours counted towards points
 4P   Presentation Requirements
Must contain at least two of the following Options
  1. A prerequisite such as time in business or a reading
  2. Interactive format beyond class discussion
  3. Class project
  4. Individual project
  5. Homework that is critiqued by the presenter

Session Qualifications For Receiving EU Points
  1. Session / Class / Workshop presentations must be based on the outline on file at EU
  2. A current presenter bio is on file with EU
  3. All outlines must be presented on the appropriate level 1, 2, 3, 4 forms provided by EU
  4. EU will assign point values for all sessions submitted
  5. Session outlines and individual presenters are a package
  6. All outlines remain copyrighted to presenter solely
  7. If more than one presenter is leading the session, a primary instructor will be listed for that session
  8. If a course is developed and presented by more than one presenter at various locations, each presenter needs to submit their session(s) separately
  9. Duplicate topics can be presented by an unlimited number of presenters

    Session Points

Sample

Points will be awarded for each session based on:
  1. Length of time of the presentation
  2. The number of presentation options
  3. And the level of the session
  4. A single point will be awarded for
    - Each hour or part of an hour
    - For each option contained in a presentation
    - Plus the number of points representing the level of the session
  5. There is no maximum point accumulation for On-Site sessions
    On-Line Course Points

Sample

Points will be awarded for each course based on:
  1. Number of Segments in the course
  2. The number of presentation options used
  3. And the level of the session
  4. A single point will be awarded for
    - Each On-Line Segment (Index or outline only segments are not considered segments for points)
    - For each option contained in a presentation
    - Plus the number of points representing the level of the session
  5. There is no maximum point accumulation for On-Line courses
    Experience Points
  1. 1 year (part or full time) in embroidery business = 5 points per year
  2. A maximum of 50 points will be allowed to accumulate for this area
   Trade Show Points
  1. To attend an industry Trade Show = 2 points
  2. A maximum of 20 points will be allowed to accumulate for this area

Points will be accumulated to reach the following Award Levels:
  1. ASSOCIATE Level = 100 Points
  2. FELLOW Level = 200 Points
  3. CRAFTSMAN Level = 300 Points
  4. ARTIST Level = 400 Points
  5. MASTER Level = 500 Points

Additional Information
  1. Points can only be awarded to individuals that are enrolled as students at EU
  2. Points can not be awarded retroactively, except for calculating years of experience
  3. Points are awarded to individuals attending educational sessions, not to a Company or employer
  4. Points can be assigned to sessions held in a variety of formats, i.e. Conferences, workshops, trade shows
  5. Presenters must complete the EU outline forms to qualify their session for points (this can not be done retroactively)
  6. Presenters should allow 2 weeks for EU to assigned point values to sessions
  7. There is no cost to the presenter for this service.
  8. There will be a "live" calendar available listing all sessions that have point values assigned
  9. All sessions will have the session summaries and outlines available on-line
  10. Presenters are Responsible for submitting the list of attendees within 2 weeks after the event so that EU may talley the points for attending students
  11. EU will provide presenter with student sign-in forms, as well as EU student enrollment forms, approximately 2 weeks prior to the event
  12. EU will post points earned within 4 weeks of event date
  13. EU students can view their "point status" on line with their student ID number
  14. EU Education Points are earned for attending educational sessions, or taking courses On-Line at EU, not for presenting or administering them
  15. Developers will earn EU Points for developing each unique session and then presenting it for the first time, or launching on the EU website
    a) Level 1 & 2 courses earn 5 points, plus course level point value
    b) Level 3 & 4 courses earn 10 point,s plus course level points value
